Michael began his professional vocation as a college swimming coach at the University of Redlands in 2002.
After completing his Masters degree in Curriculum and Instruction, Michael began his journey as a science and math teacher at Ingrid B. Lacy Middle School in Northern California.
In 2005, he was hired to develop, and implement a project based biology and environmental science program at Napa New Technology High School.
During this time, he began studying instructional practices and classroom processes that were integral to the project based classroom.
His passion for student advocacy resulted in several students attending state and national conferences, creating a non-profit environmental organization, and addressing environmental health issues in Kenya.
Michael continues to advocate his desire for educational reform through conference appearances, textbook development, and working with students and teachers at all levels of education.
After working with Napa New Technology High School, Michael joined the New Technology Foundation to work with educators on the challenges of organizational dynamics and project based pedagogy.
His education and experience as a PBL instructor, school advocate, and lead teacher are integral in his role as School Development Coach.
Michael earned his B.S. & M.A. degree from the University of Redlands, and is expected to complete his doctorate in organizational leadership from the University of La Verne in August of 2008.
Michael and his wife Quinn live in Scottsdale, AZ.
